Seven Star Women's Kung Fu

Katie Roberts

I have been a member of Seven Women's Kung Fu for three years now, and my experience has been nothing but wonderful.  They are completely committed to providing the kind of support deaf women need.  Several of the instructors and many of the students do know sign language.  Interpreters are provided for classes, tests and training sessions.  As the Interpreter Coordinator, I have also taught ASL classes there and encouraged instructors to communicate directly with the customers. They are the best! This doesn't even include the fact their wonderful philosophy of life and love - through the fist way you will find happiness.  Kung Fu will bring you physical health, peace, and build your character.  It has done so for me.

Seven Star Women's Kung Fu is a cool non-profit martial arts school geared for women. We study the art of Kajukenbo and self defense. It has been running for 30 years and led by four generations of women of teaching women. I give it 5 stars because it provides scholarship to students who cannot afford training, childcare for mothers who can continue training, and ASL interpreting for Deaf students to train more! All AWESOME instructors and peers know sign language and encourage rapport and support among each other. This school encourage empowerment, confidence, and strength in self and others.
