Agua Verde Paddle Club

A friend and I have been kayaking from this club for a few years and we were genuinely impressed by the club.   They actually developed a deaffriendly flow chart for customers to decide what to rent/share info with the front desk.  I recommend you to get a punch card, only eligible on weekdays only not including holidays. Champ to go kayaking during summer here!

I attended a deaf meet-up here for lunch recently. I was so impressed with the willingness of the workers here to get all of our orders down correctly. There were a lot of us, and each of our needs were different. They were very open to writing, gesturing, and our pointing to the menu. I couldn't have asked for an easier process during an awesome lunch!! I will definitely be back many more times and bring some friends!

Very friendly, professional and engaging. Girl at the counter (Kendra?) was actually fluent in basic ASL - and able to facilitate our reservation. Her questions about our proficiency level in ASL made us feel at ease and instilled a sense of trust in the business. She used classifiers to describe a successful and safe mounting/dismounting techniques for the kayaks. There is a mexican restaurant above the kayak rental office that is connected by the same business name. They were happy to take our order through a variety of communication modes (iPhone, writing on pad, pointing, etc.) Definitely earned our respect.

Perfect for summer. PERIOD. Go there and order a couple of horchata drinks to tide yourselves over and browse the wonderful menu of Mexican food. I recommend fish tacos, and really everything there! Take notice that they always get crowded during lunch and dinner but worth it to see the sunset and kayakers to paddle by outside on the restaurant deck. If you are up for it, you can even rent a kayak below the cafe and go to Lake Washington or Lake Union! Margaritas rock, too! If it is too crowdy, you can order at the counter and wait to get your food, then walk to adjacent park nearby with picnic tables to converse and enjoy the sunshine.
