Love Gaybucks!!!  Used to get together there all the time for DB Happy Hour.  Plenty of space to stand and visit inside and outside.  Used to serve wine but no more, coffee's good as always.  Like how easy it is to get to too!  Its right in the middle of Seattle.  Miss it!

When I approached the clerk and informed him I was Deaf he was friendly and ready to serve me. He handed me a pen and paper so I could write my order down. When I gestured to him to wave me down he understood and gestured back. Then the barista who had my order in fact flagged me down. Seemless!! I would only recommend that all of the staff here learn a little bit of sign. Being in close proximation of a community college with ASL classes and Deaf teachers, it's a popular place to come.

Crys

Easily one of the most deaf-friendly Starbucks in Seattle. I often meet my Deaf friends there for business or pleasure and have found with rare exception my interactions with baristas and cashiers there to be an outstanding example of deaf-friendly customer service. Many baristas know sign and those that don't are happy to switch to other modes of communication be it pen and paper, gestures, or using text on my phone.

Fluent signers? CHECK! Visual Menu? CHECK! Eye-contact, clear speech, flexibility and respect? CHECK! This is the most deaf-friendly Starbucks I have ever come into contact with, and I drink a lot of Starbucks!

Le Petit Chouette

There may be a Starbucks on every corner, but some Starbucks are "creme de la creme." I was just here a couple nights ago for a coffee seminar about limited edition beans from Malawi and Galapagos island. Here's what's impressive: I decided to go at the very last minute. Usually, a deaf/HOH person has to request an ASL terp at least one week (if not TWO WEEKS) in advance. Total spontaneity killer! They had 2 terps, inc. a barista (Chris), who generously volunteered his time & ASL talent. Needless to say, the deaf audience outnumbered the hearing audience. Businesses, when you take a page from SBUX's customer service model, we'll flock to you.

My favorite Starbucks in Seattle! Very deaf-friendly, all the baristas are very well-aware of deaf people and they have papers and pens ready for us to use. Best of all, there's an ITP student working there. It's one of the most popular places for deaf people gathering.
