There may be a Starbucks on every corner, but some Starbucks are "creme de la creme." I was just here a couple nights ago for a coffee seminar about limited edition beans from Malawi and Galapagos island. Here's what's impressive: I decided to go at the very last minute. Usually, a deaf/HOH person has to request an ASL terp at least one week (if not TWO WEEKS) in advance. Total spontaneity killer! They had 2 terps, inc. a barista (Chris), who generously volunteered his time & ASL talent. Needless to say, the deaf audience outnumbered the hearing audience. Businesses, when you take a page from SBUX's customer service model, we'll flock to you.
