BAMBŪ Desserts and Drinks

Joshua

I just want to give this restaurant review an update:

I went to this restaurant again recently. This time I went to Bambu with one of my close friends for lunch since he is in town. The restaurant manager, Sahara approached to us and wrote it down on the paper to say hello to us with my name. I was surprised how much she changed for the better this time. I am not sure if she already got hint last time when it happened or read my last review. I have to give her the credit for made lots of efforts to make our restaurant experience better this time. We communicated via wrote it down on the notes to inform us about today special, ordered drinks, lunch, etc. It was definately Deaf-friendly restaurant experience. Thank you, Sahara for made the great efforts to become more Deaf-friendly. We enjoyed our lunch and desserts. Our lunch and dessert were amazing delicious! :)

I have been coming to this restaurant many times because of my fiance works there. I am really offended that restaurant manager, Sahara was very disrespectful toward to my Deafness. We have met few times before and she KNEW that I am Deaf and unable to read lips well. This time, she came to our table and started to speaking to me. I couldn't understand her and I was politely asked her please to write it down. She ignored that and continued speaking. I got really pissed off and ignored her by look at the menu. I don't appreciate the way she treated me. I have been coming to this restaurant many times and all waiters I encourtered with were so great with me. At that time, when the restaurant was so busy, we had just one waiter and he was overwhelmed by many tables to serve. Sahara just stood there and did nothing about that. She doesn't even bother to offer support to the waiter. That says lots about Sahara's lack of management skills. She doesn't represents Fairmont hotel brand very well.

I went to this restaurant, Bambu in Fairmont-Newport Beach few times.  Every time I go there, the waiters whose served us were so friendly, thoughtful and patience with us.  The food were AMAZING! FYI, Pastry chef, Jeffry is fluent in ASL so make sure you order desserts when you eat there too. You won't be disappointed! :)
