Regal Marysville

Kate

This is my second review since the first one. Things have not improved--in fact, it has decreased. I'm bummed about that because I was excited to have a place to go to watch the movies with CC in Marysville. Went to watch Ghostbusters with the female cast & the male staff at register did not know how to prepare the CC devices for us. Had to get someone else to set them up. When we sat down, we discovered that our glasses were not working. Missed the first few minutes of the movie to get it fixed. Manager came back in with them and it seemed to be working. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that 1/3 of funny lines & conversations were missing due to no CC. It was obvious because we could see the lips move but there were no CC (words) to translate them. It ruined our experience because we were there to have a fun time and we spent it struggling to have accessibility. We did request to speak with the manager and informed her of this problem. She kept on talking to us even if we wanted to write on paper--we had to tell her several times throughout our conversation to please write down what she was saying because we couldn't understand her. The manager refunded our tickets and gave us free tickets for a future visit. Informed us that the glasses would be mailed back to be fixed or replaced. I don't know if it was related to the glasses with the missing words because that seemed to be a separate issue. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon so I can leave a better review for the next time.

I never thought that I'll see this day where a smaller town like Marysville would have CC available at the movie theater. The day has arrived!

It's been hit and/or miss sometimes when I attend this place. Some of the staff have been awkward about how to interact/communicate with Deaf/Hard of Hearing customers. I've had the CC eyewear glasses fail on me once or twice, probably because they ran out of battery and/or weren't charged enough. During one of those times when it stopped working, I had to leave because I missed so much of the beginning of the movie due to the CC eyewear glasses not working and I got a refund for a future visit.

Whenever I stop by and sign my personal information on the chart before checking out the CC eyewear glasses and/or cup holder, I am surprised to see a lot of different names on the list. Seems like a lot of people are starting to use it now once the word has gotten out.

Advice: Hopefully the equipment can be checked more often and/or made sure to be charged enough or fully before the next person uses it. Or if possible, order more of the equipment if the number of customers has increased for using this equipment.

I just wanted to say thank you to this place for having CC features available so people like me can enjoy movies from time to time!
