Capitol Cider

deafREVIEWer Seattle, WA

I ordered via the waiter at the table
and also the bartender at the bar, while I was among a group of deaf friends. The waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed but took it in stride, learning that we could communicate by pointing at the menu. He was willing to go point at a nearby board that listed some drinks that were not on the printed menu while making recommendations. As for the bar, it was pretty hectic and two different bartenders tried to serve me with the second one being confused, not understanding that I was deaf.

It was rather interesting because they have a permanent mural that had several real life Deaf residents of Seattle on it in their lower level area. It might be nice if the staff were more informed on how to serve the deaf, including learning a few basic signs.
